Happy Ice Cream Day everyone! Yesterday, I was able to check out a place I’ve been meaning to go to for some time now and that’s also because I had a pair of sneakers that went perfectly with one of the item (maybe a future #TheFitBreakDown ?) but nonetheless, it was cool to check it out and read below for my honest thoughts, info, and pictures. Background & Location

So this was a spot I’ve been meaning to check out for a while because a buddy from University first shared it but I never got around to getting it until yesterday. I remember seeing the really cool wall of cereal boxes (see below) which makes sense because this place offers cereal infused ice cream with speciality cereal that make you nostalgic of your childhood. What surprised me was that the prior location was just a popup but the place I went to yesterday is their permanent location (186 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario) which is in Chinatown. This location was home to a really good vegan fast food spot in 2020 (Locavore). If you’re driving here, I would recommend parking at a parking lot near the legendary Sonic Boom record store.

Process, Price, and Service

When you get there, you might notice that there was only one person working (the owner) but he’s efficient so just be a little patient because I could tell he was tired but he was still was nice and respectful. You would also see the Menu while you wait and if I am not mistaken, there are select options you can choose from and it can vary but the options for when I went was was Cinnamon Toast Crunch, S’mores, Froot Loops, Cookie monster (Chips Ahoy), Oreo O’s, Nesquick, Lucky Charms x Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Dunkaroos! They have 2 options for what type of ice cream treat you can buy. The first, is the classic which is the ice cream on the cup and the second, is the ice cream in milk shake form. The ice cream is $6.99 plus tax while the milkshake is $1 more. The pricing is a bit on the higher side but since it is a speciality item and for the size, I think the price is justified especially when you compare to other speciality items in that part of the city, it makes sense.

Taste

I ended up getting the Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake while my sis got the Dunkaroos ice cream in a cup! As you can see the cereal is blended into the ice cream but is still decorated with toppings around and the actual flavour (whether it is the CTC or the 2 Dunkaroos) on top. Both shake and ice cream were smooth and creamy where you can definitely taste the flavour inside but I feel that the level of sweetness depends on the flavour because the ice cream itself is not too sweet. The milkshake was a bit more creamy, and I felt like I really tasted the CTC in the middle of the shake. If I had to choose one, I think i enjoyed the cup more.

Overall and Recommendations

All in all, I do recommend this place because for the amount you get plus the taste, you do get your money’s worth! I would love to see them incorporate different toppings and options if possible. I noticed the owner wearing a Legends League cap so it would be cool to see maybe some Toronto themed cereal ice cream options or even hip hop inspired ice cream flavours (I also noticed he had the Travis Scott cereal box at the back), even if it is seasonal because it will definitely take it to the next level. Nonetheless, if it is just one person working I can only imagine how hard it must be for this small business and they are doing a great job as is but I would say try both milkshake and ice cream for yourself but the next time I go, I am definitely getting an ice cream and curious to see what they will have in store then (or maybe I will go back with my Cinnamon Toast Crunch sneakers and get the ice cream only version)!  If you’ve been here before let me know your thoughts below or on social media by following on TiktokInstagram, and Facebook!
