Review: Ralph’s Coffee

Back in May, I had a chance to finally visit a cafe I had only seen on social media but was never near me so when I came across it by accident, I had to try it. In honour of National Coffee Day, I feel it’s only right to share my thoughts about this cafe, what I had, and regret. Before you read below, make sure you give the blog a follow by subscribing via email and following on social media (TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook) as I post more Malaysian and food content! About and Location

Ralph’s Coffee is the exclusive cafe by the iconic American fashion brand (one of my favourite), Ralph Lauren. The cafe is nice and elegant while representing a classic American cafe aesthetic with many New York vibes. The cafe prides itself in having special blends such as roasted coffee, decaf, espressos that are made from organic beans sourced from Central and South America and Africa. Of course, the cafe has a lot of different menu items such as lemonades, baked goods, accessories, and apparel. The Ralph’s Coffee I went to was inside the stunning, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (168, Jln Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) on level three. There are a very limited seats inside but the mall itself was big so I am sure you can find seats somewhere else but try to look at the availability first before making an order if you plan on sitting inside. Fun fact, I did go here after visiting the Petronas Towers.

Price

The top two pictures in the collage above show the different prices in Malaysian Ringgits (RM). I got a total of four things that came up to 81.60 MYR which converted to $24.32 CAD. Although that seems like a lot, it really isn’t given the prices I pay at Toronto boba shops and cafes (e.g., the iced coffee was 20 RM but works out to approximately $6 CAD). I don’t remember how much the cookie was but I think it was around 10 RM. I regret not buying any souvenirs from the shop but from what I saw, all the items you see here you can buy online via Ralph Lauren’s website. In terms of exclusives, I believe the barista told me that their signature items were the brownie and cookie.

Taste

collage of different things i ate and drank at ralph's coffee in KL Malaysia including a cookie, lemonade, iced coffee and latte.

In terms of taste, it wasn’t bad at all. I got the Iced Ralph’s Coffee (black) because I always try new coffee black to see how it tastes. Personally, it was really strong but it still had a smooth taste to it even chilled which I appreciate and would consider my favorite. My dad had the latte and he liked it as he also said it was smooth and not too sweet. He said it wasn’t anything extraordinary but he still enjoyed it. I am not too sure about the artwork because I can’t guess what it could be. I got the lemonade to go so I can share it with my mom and sister and it was really sour. I don’t mind sour lemonade but frankly, it was a little basic and the sour taste overpowered every other taste. The cookie was massive and airy inside. I didn’t mind it but I think it would taste better as a softer texture but that is just my personal preference.

Overall

All in all, I enjoyed finally going to Ralph’s Coffee and would love to go again to this location or another location! I do recommend the iced Ralph’s coffee the most and next time I would try the brownie and matcha drink. I enjoyed having a cup of coffee with my dad in this cafe even if was inside a mall. But let’s be real, Pavillion Kuala Lumpur is a stunning mall that makes Toronto malls inferior. Let me know if you have tried Ralph’s Coffee in the comments below or on social media when the teaser video for this blog post comes out on TikTokInstagram, and Facebook!
