As I finally finish recapping the Hawaii trip, it was only right to do a post highlighting some key outfits that I didn’t want to go overlooked. The only downside is one of the kicks I wore that I wanted to show, I didn’t end up taking an outfit pic with because I pretty much ruined it during my time at Kipu Ranch Trail. But let’s break down the outfits below, worn at some cool locations!
Aloha Friday – King Kamehameha Statue – Downtown Honolulu
Aloha Shirt – Palm Trees
When browsing for solid Aloha shirts for Aloha Friday, I came across two good ones (see the other below), but I ended up going with this one just because I liked the fit I had ready for the day and the activities ahead. The quality, material, price, and design make this shirt a great purchase.
Place of Purchase: ABC Stores
Price: I believe it was $30 USD
Shoes
This was one of the many crazy deals I got during my Black Friday Haul that year (maybe I should do a video?). The actual name for this shoe “Nike SB Portmore II Solarsoft Slip-on” but I nicknamed these the “Nike SB Aloha“. I even tried to write Aloha on the shoe but it got smudged off. Although Nike SB has released a whole pack with this floral print these slip-ons were the best fit for Hawaii. Fun Fact: I still have some sand in my shoe that won’t come off!
Place of Purchase: Nike, online
Price: $40 CAD
Pants
I remember picking up an order for a buddy of mine at Solestop and often I shop through the marked down Stance socks but I saw they added more apparel to the section and gravitated towards these modern style cargo pants. The colour and texture are solid, the only thing I don’t really like is the drop crotch area, but still not bad.
Place of Purchase: Solestop, in-store.
Price: I believe it was on sale for $50 CAD
Kauai Marriott Resort – Lihue, Kauai
Aloha Shirt – Relic and Stamped
So I got this shirt the same time as the shirt above because ABC Stores was having a sale and wanted to get an Aloha shirt from Hawaii. Although locals recommended us exploring Chinatown for better deals, I really liked the quality of these shirts including the weight, the print, and the dye. Also, the price wasn’t too bad.
Place of Purchase: ABC Stores
Price: I believe it was $35 USD
Aloha Shirt – Waves
Even though I purchased this at Bluenotes, the brand is called Super Massive and I absolutely love the print and fit of these shirts. I have another shirt with a dope print that is also from this brand and I also got that for a steal as well. You can look out for this brand at Bluenotes, Winners, Urban Planet and more.
Place of Purchase: Bluenotes, in-store
Price: $10 to $15
Oahu Lookout – USS Missouri
This outfit was also worn when I visited the Dole Plantation because it was right after.
Sneakers
I remember when exploring the battleship one of the workers there said “excuse me sir, those sneakers are so fire” which was awesome to hear! I also wore these MCM exclusive Puma Suede on Kalapaki Beach, you can get more details on them there.
Place of Purchase: MCM Toronto (no online release for this specific colourway), but you can try for resale as some are available, including on StockX.
Price: I believe it was around $380 CAD
The Hat
I actually copped this hat for my sister during the Toronto Blue Jays playoff run back in 2016. We really liked the respect branding that the teams were doing, especially with the Jays. This hat is really comfortable with the mesh upper and versatile due to the crown fit.
Place of Purchase: Lids, in-store
Price: I believe it was around $30 CAD
The Polo Shirt
The last piece is a go-to summer polo with the right amount of weight and floral design, which went perfectly with the kicks. I scooped this top for a bargain at Winners.
Place of Purchase: Winners
Price: $10 – $15 CAD
