If I haven’t said it before, I am going to announce it right now. 2018 has to be the best year for sneakers. There is so much product moving, new technology releasing and consumers are having much more choice.
Here is this week’s selection for #ShelfSitting :
5. Damian Lillard x Adidas Dame 4 “Glow in The Park”
Although the post-season was short for the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard still had an impressive regular season. This was accompanied by the fourth instalment in his signature shoe line with Adidas. The most hyped Dame 4 had to be the BAPE collaboration, but there were different colourways that also turned heads.
The “Glow in the Park” colourway takes inspiration from Dame’s love for roller-skating, as it was a past-time he enjoyed with his friends after high school. This isn’t the first time a Dame 4 colourway was inspired by Dame’s high school memories as the BAPE collaboration stemmed from him discovering the brand while in high school.
As debuted by Lil’ Wayne, this is a clean colourway with a dark grey upper, colourful accents throughout and you guessed it, a glow in the dark outsole. It is currently on sale at Eastbay for only $79.99 USD. In addition, Eastbay is currently having a sale for 20% off orders of $99 so if you manage to like something else you can save more.
4. The Weeknd x Puma – XO Parallel
The Canadian (Scarborough) singer has taken the music scene by storm even since he got his big break back when Entourage used “High For This” in the promo for their final season. Fortunately for Abel (The Weeknd’s real name), in addition to the awards he has been earning he has also received a signature shoe deal from Puma.
The sneaker/combat boot shoe known as the “XO Parallel” has released in a few colourways accompanied by different apparel ranging from shirts to kimonos and more. You can pick up the latest colourway, which is a clean black and white rendition from NRML as they have a couple sizes left.
3. Atmos x Air Max 1 “Curry Pack”
The original Air Max 1 that was dubbed the “Curry One” (the light brown colour) released back in 2003. This is the first time the sneakers are being retro’d and it is accompanied by two new colourways entitled the “green curry” and “red curry” respectively.
The texture and detail on these particular kicks are remarkable. Another bold statement I want to make is that this year, may also be the year of the Air Max 1. Most places have the retro sneaker sold out but Livestock currently has sizes from all three colourways shown above.
2. NEIGHBOURHOOD x Adidas “Chop Shop”
The lifestyle/streetwear brand NEIGHBOURHOOD founded by Shinsuke Takizawa was based on different lifestyles and clothing such as motorcycle, traditional, and more. The brand is known to have a more edgy look with a clean execution.
The brand recently collaborated with Adidas to launch several different apparel and sneakers. The collection for the most part sold out quickly. However, one of the silhouettes from the collection is still available and you can get it under retail!
The Chop Shop is a unique sneaker featuring different materials throughout the shoe. The sole does include boost so it should be comfortable as well. You can pick these up at Haven and use the code FTWR20 for 20% off!
1. Acronym X Nike Vapormax Flyknit Moc 2 Pack
The third and final instalment of Errolson Hugh’s Acronym take on Nike’s Vapormax Moc 2 released yesterday. Anytime the brand collaborates with Nike it’s always a highly demanded release, especially due to Errolson’s combination of style and technicality. Because of this, it’s often hard to find a pair. That’s why for this week this is the number one pick and it may come in a shocker.
Although it may not be a full size run, a couple of sizes in each colourway is available at Solebox. You can purchase the “White/Icy Passage“, “Black Volt/ The Illusion” and finally with the pretty much a full size run, “Cargo Khaki-Organge/ The Thirsty Bandit” . Also, check out the trailer for the collection staring John Mayer.
Let me know what you decide to cop and share this article with anyone you know who’s looking to pick up a good pair of sneakers!
